Alcohol and Other Drug Services

  • Alcohol & Other Drug Services
    The Office of Alcohol and Other Drug Services coordinates prevention, intervention, education, and peer leadership opportunities in the area of substance abuse
  • Alcohol Beverage Policy
    The University's Alcoholic Beverage Policy provides guidelines for graduate and undergraduate student organizations, residence hall councils and University departments conducting events involving alcohol in University facilities and on the University premises.
  • AlcoholEdu
    AlcoholEdu is a course that uses science based research to educate students about alcohol and its effects.
  • Drug Free Campus & Alcohol Abuse Statement
    The University campus is subject to State and Federal laws concerning use and possession of alcohol and drugs. Individuals must be aware of and abide by these laws.

    Fun and educational programs for students to learn about drug and alcohol information.

    HuskyCareerLink is a web based recruiting system which allows Career Services to manage many of the recruiting related activities we offer to students.

Assessment tools are available for depression, generalized anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder, and bipolar disorder.

Residential Life

  • Movie Channel, The
    Student requested movies played on channel 16 of on-campus televisions. All movies are shown from the beginning of each semester until the beginning of finals week.
  • Housing Contract
    Binding contract for students living in University Owned housing for the academic year.
  • Meningitis Information
    Meningitis immunizations are mandatory for students living in on-campus housing.
  • Special Interest Housing
    Special Interest Housing are communities of First Year Students, Academic Clusters, Social Groups, and students with similar lifestyle choices, such as quiet areas and substance free living.

  • Greek Life
    The Greek Life staff strives to enhance student development with the fraternities and sororities here on campus. Staff supports the efforts of Greek student leaders in order to foster the education of the whole person: intellectually, ethically, and socially.

    Offers students' opportunities to engage in service related activities that enhance the quality of life of others in the community while enriching their own learning experience at UConn.

    The Student Union Theatre plays second run movies at a discounted ticket price for students.
  • Husky Roadshows
    Husky Roadshows are designed by SUBOG to provide transportation for students attending UConn sporting events at Rentschler Field and the Hartford Civic Center.

Student Health Services

    A wide range of services are offered to students here, including primary health care, acute care (non-life-threatening), counseling and mental health, in-patient care, laboratory, radiology, and pharmacy.
  • Meningitis Clinic Information
    The University of Connecticut Student Health Services will be sponsors a Meningitis Vaccination Clinic for students in need of Meningitis vaccinations to live in university-owned housing.

  • Immunization Requirements
    As a University student, you must verify that you have received certain vaccinations before attending classes.

    All full time students are required by the University to maintain health insurance coverage.

    Student Health Services offers two peer education groups. Students Helping to Achieve Positive Esteem (S.H.A.P.E.) work with the Nutrition department and Sexperts with the Health Education department.
